On July 19, 2000, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) issued an antidumping duty order on imports of Art Paper from Japan. On January 19, 2005, the MOF, pursuant to the Implementation Regulation on the Imposition of Countervailing and Antidumping Duties and a request by Taiwan Paper Industry Association, initiated a sunset review concerning the antidumping duty order on the aforementioned case.
Following the initiation of the case concerned by the MOF, the International Trade Commission (ITC) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs is instituting an injury investigation to determine whether the expiry revocation of the antidumping duty order would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury.
The injury investigation will be concluded within a period of 8 months beginning January 19, 2005. If necessary, the period may be extended, but the investigation will normally be concluded within 12 months, In order to proceed with the injury investigation, the ITC will send questionnaires for the known interested parties (including domestic producers and importers and foreign producers and purchasers) to fill in, hold hearings, and disclose the essential facts that form the basis for a determination. For further information, please visit the ITC's website (
